Finding the Right Clients

Have you noticed how difficult it can be to find clients that are willing to meet you half way? It is astonishing to me how organizations or individuals within organizations want to play the blame game opposed to following the processes that are put in place to make a working relationship successful.

I have to admit I have learned the hard way. Through out my life and my career and now as a business owner, I have always assumed that all people were good. Boy was I wrong. It is amazing how many challenges I have encountered due to my trusting nature. From colleagues stabbing you in the back, to clients owing you money, to vendors changing project specs on deadline, to theft, etc. it is truly eye opening to see how much vanity and greed still resides in this world.

Although these challenges have been a stumbling block they have not deterred me away from my ultimate goal. Starting Mack and Jack's Marketing Solutions was by far the best decision I have ever made from a career standpoint. Even though it terrified me to strive for excellence and was difficult to gain my confidence in the beginning, I have realized that I can stand on my own two feet and be successful. I have learned not to sweat the small stuff (totally difficult to do, but finally getting there). And I am finally realizing that it is okay to say "No" or choose not to work with a specific client.

Trust me, these revolutions did not happen overnight. I am proud to say Mack and Jack's is getting ready to celebrates it's 3rd year in business. I have to give kuddos to my networking partners though. They are my strength and bond that keep me focused, provide me with the strength to move forward and constant cheerleaders for continued success. With that being said the number one person that comes to mind is Carol Bell with EVOS - East Valley Office Supply. Carol has provided me with such positive reinforcement to strive for success. She is truly a fantastic networking partner, friend and mentor. Through my relationship I have gained throughout my career both working relationships and clients, I have finally realized that I am in control and much of my guidance has been from trial and error, but mostly from my networking partners.

And to boot, we have an AMAZING AMAZING clientele base that trusts Mack and Jack's with their expertise for success.

Brand Consistency and Frequency Importance

As we all know from our homes, to our attire, to our work environment we uniquely uniform ourselves. The same is true when it comes to business. If we changed our look everyday our uniqueness would change. Now I am not saying that it is not okay to be unique, however, the key to branding is consistency, frequency, and the overall uniform of an organization. If we changed the look of an organization daily, the focus would change.

Through the course of my career I have learned the importance of Corporate Branding. Although I may not be the total subject matter expert, I am getting pretty darn close. Prior to starting Mack and Jack's Marketing Solutions over two years ago, I learned that strategically campaigning a company or a product as well as maintaining your brand identity was one of the only ways to get noticed. Although important two years ago, it is THE MOST IMPORTANT facet of marketing in today's economy.

We continuously hear that those that will survive this per-say recession we are experiencing will strive above the competition in the end. With that being said the number one goal for any company should be to increase your advertising, be smart and economical, but definitely do not cut it off completely. The second most important factor is getting yourself notice. In today's economy re-branding is becoming the new Up and Up thing to do. Don't feel like you have to completely change the look and feel of your organization, but enhance it just a bit to get noticed. The third and foremost is consistency & frequency, the biggest failure in marketing is having the "If I build it they will come philosophy" or "wow, I just did a huge direct mail piece for the year, I am sure the doors are going to blow off my company with foot traffic." This unfortunately is the biggest mishap in marketing and advertising. Letting people know you exist is one thing, but let them know you STILL exist today is crucial.

I know the information provided is not rocket science merely common sense. Hopefully with these key factors your organization will soar above the competition.
